The relationship between the United States and Canada has seen a significant downturn, marked by an intensifying trade dispute. The latest development in this contentious period includes a suggestion from former US President Donald Trump to rename Lake Ontario, a body of water shared by both countries, to 'Lake America.' Trump's statement on Tuesday indicated that the United States was giving "serious consideration" to the name change, citing an anticipated reduction in business dealings with the Canadian province of Ontario. Speaking on CNBC, LeBlanc stated that the Canadian federal government had made a decision months prior not to engage with daily social media posts from the US administration, including those from the President or his cabinet secretaries.
