Bournemouth and Sunderland handed AC Milan ties in Europa League draw

Bournemouth will host AC Milan while Sunderland travel to the San Siro after the 2026-27 Europa League league phase draw was made in Nyon on Friday. Both English clubs secured European football for the first time in decades following strong Premier League finishes last season.

Bournemouth, who finished sixth in the Premier League last season, will play eight matches in the league phase. They host AC Milan, Viktoria Plzen, Sturm Graz and Hapoel Beersheba at home. Away fixtures take them to Real Sociedad, Celta Vigo, Sparta Prague and Lillestrom.

Sunderland, who placed seventh, also face AC Milan among their opponents. They visit the San Siro and Anderlecht while hosting AZ Alkmaar, Dinamo Zagreb, Levski Sofia, Jagiellonia Bialystok and Lech Poznan. They also travel to Portuguese cup winners Torreense.

Crystal Palace, last season's Conference League winners, were drawn in pot three. They host Real Sociedad, Sparta Prague, Lech Poznan and Hoffenheim. Their away games include Lyon, Salzburg, Jagiellonia and Besiktas.

Celtic dropped into the Europa League after losing to LASK in Champions League qualifying. The Scottish side will host Marseille and visit Benfica among other fixtures.

The league phase begins on September 16 and 17. The final is scheduled for May 26, 2027 in Frankfurt. Aston Villa are the defending champions after defeating Freiburg last season.

Brighton represent the Premier League in the Conference League. They host Monaco, Universitatea Craiova and Kauno Zalgiris. Hearts will also compete in the competition and host Monaco while visiting Trabzonspor.
